“Right Here has been a creative outlet for me during my studies at university and has helped keep me grounded at times where I’ve almost disappeared into a bubble of study stress. The group is supportive and fun to be involved in. A great way to feel connected with Brighton and other young people in the city. I can’t praise it enough!”

“I’ve learnt a lot about working with social media and what it’s like working in an office environment. I definitely think this will open up opportunities in the future and benefit me in future job roles. It’s so great to be able to work creatively at the same time as working towards helping people, it’s the two things I enjoy most combined.”

Volunteer Opportunities

Everything that YMCA Right Here does is produced by a team of 16-25 year olds who volunteer in order to carry out vital research, produce award winning campaigns locally and nationally, make films, design posters, deliver workshops to other young people, train GP’s and other professionals. We have a mix of volunteer opportunities from local to national, long term or short term. Discover our volunteer opportunities.

Digital Volunteers are 18-25 year olds passionate about improving health and wellbeing for young people and using their digital skills to do so! They might be part-time job, unemployed, studying, graduated or something else but able to commit to one day a week in the office working alongside our digital projects officer.
Using your digital skills (you may have skills in social media? or filmmaking?) you will assist the Digital Project Officer and work alongside the Youth Ambassador group to support creative visions. One week you might be researching services for our website www.wheretogofor.com and the next writing blogs for www.findgetgive.com. If you are creative, have a passion for digital projects and health and wellbeing then this is the perfect opportunity.

Not only does it look good on your CV it develops confidence, skills and knowledge. Working on celebrity-faced campaigns (#IAMWHOLE) and free mental health training are among the list of cool stuff you can get involved with. We also pay for your travel within Brighton and Hove!
