Right Here has been a creative outlet for me during my studies at university and has helped keep me grounded at times where I’ve almost disappeared into a bubble of study stress. The group is supportive and fun to be involved in. A great way to feel connected with Brighton and other young people in the city. I can’t praise it enough!

Who are we?
We are a team of 16-25 year olds who are passionate about working collaboratively to improve awareness and understanding of young people’s health and wellbeing.
We are a mix of students, graduates, workers and all sorts – but the thing that connects us all is our determination to make a difference for other young people. We believe in young people helping other young people because we understand the issues we all face growing up in today’s society.
What do we do?
We design, develop and produce awareness-raising campaigns that have had a local, national, and even global impact. We create resources to support young people, deliver workshops in secondary schools around Brighton and Hove and conduct important research to write reports for the local council and the NHS. Another essential part of the work we do is attending an array of interesting events to promote Right Here. The work we do is often recognised nationally, receiving nominations for various awards – which means we are regularly invited to ceremonies in London!
We meet once a week in Hove to talk about our projects and make decisions about how to move forward with current projects (with tea and snacks, of course). Following this, each of us probably spends about an hour or two during the week to work on the stuff we decided in the meeting. You can take on as little or as much as you’d like; any time you can offer is valuable to our team.
Why do we love it?
It’s a volunteer opportunity like no other. Working alongside othervolunteers, organisations, production teams and more provides invaluable experience not only for CV building but develops your confidence, skills and knowledge. Fantastic opportunities such as celebrity-faced campaigns and free mental health training are among the list of cool stuff you can get involved with.
